I love the books of Bernard Waber -- "Ira Sleeps Over" is a classic, as is "Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile". It is funny that the seventies that gave us such wretched "problem" books (of the "Mommy Is An Alcoholic" variety) also gave us some pretty wonderful stuff. find that today, even though there are so many kids' books being published, there is a real dearth of anything very exceptional.

Read the whole thing, Dr. Monkey. Thank you for putting the work into posting this!

Great little story, made magical by the art. I wonder how many "bores" would have looked at this and ignored it, due to the style. I think it is a perfect fit, myself.

Wonderful. :)
