This ad was in a 1967 Playboy magazine.
Playboy is aimed at straight men who like to look at pictures of pretty busty women.
The guy in the ad is striking a pose that used to be associated with the stereotype of swishy gay men.
Somehow I doubt this was a very effective ad for the Hicks-Ponder Company.

Me thinks you are correct.
very funny
Plus, you'd think they'd pick a macho-ier name than "Peg-A-Dillys". Not too straight, that!
And it's printed in pink.
Somehow I'm left with the impression that "She'll get your message" was a catty phrase used in 1960s gay bars.
